This week is the 2nd week of exams for most of us, for some, it might be the last. Anyway, I wish to say GOOD LUCK to everyone, especially to final year student (like me :P). The wishing is late for a week but nothing can compare to the Chinese New Year photos! I know I know.. I think a lot of people is gonna kill me for that delay, but I promise (thou my promise is getting worthless), I will get the photo up after my exams! :):)

Let it snow!~ Let it SNOW!~ LET IT SNOW!!~

People in Birmingham!!! If you never notice, it just hail moments ago! So what is hail and why it hails?

Hail is only produced by CUMULONIMBI. If you pay attention in your geography class, your teacher will surely mention cumulonimbi. It is, in English, thunderclouds. It occurs when dust, insects (INSECTS!! JUS IMAGINE A COCKROACH IN HAIL!!), or ice crystals freezes into ice balls when contact with supercooled water. Supercooled water are water that is below freezing point but remains in liquid state. And you can find plenty within the cumulonimbi! The updraft will bring the ice balls up into the clouds. The more supercooled water it contacts, the larger it is! And when the updraft cannot support its weight, you will see ice cubes falling from the sky!

Raincoat is useless against these falling ice cubes, that why smart people buy umbrella! So this is the million dollar question!! Is hailing a sign of snowing??

Well, hail is actually a form of snowing! Snow forms if the air in a cloud is below freezing. The water vapour then turns to ice instead of rain and the tiny ice crystals stick together until they form snowflakes. When they get heavy enough to fall, they drop out of the clouds. At this point though, we still don’t know whether they will end up as rain or remain as snow. This depends on the temperature of the air they travel through on the way down to the ground. If it gets warmer, they turn into rain, but if the air stays close to freezing all the way down, then the snowflakes will make it without melting and so fall as snow.

What I can say is that if it is cold enough to hail, it might be cold enough to snow! And maybe, it is snowing everytime!! But it reaches us as rain. :)

30 things to do in an exam you know you gonna fail..

No... it doesn't mean i'm suggesting you to do this.... hahaaa! coz what is exams!? can eat one ar? =P

i grabbed this off facebook!

1. Get a copy of the exam, run out screaming "Andre, Andre, I've got the secret documents!!"

2. Talk the entire way through the exam. Read questions aloud, debate your answers with yourself out loud. If asked to stop, yell out, "I'm SOOO sure that you can hear me thinking." Then start talking about what a jerk the instructor is.

3. Bring a Game Boy. Play with the volume at max level.

4. On the answer sheet find a new, interesting way to refuse to answer every question. For example: I refuse to answer this question on the grounds that it conflicts with my religious beliefs. Be creative.

5. Run into the exam room looking about frantically. Breathe a sigh of relief. Go to the instructor, say "They've found me, I have to leave the country" and run off.

6. 15 min. into the exam, stand up, rip up all the papers into very small pieces, throw them into the air and yell out "Merry Christmas." If you're really daring, ask for another copy of the exam. Say you lost the first one. Repeat this process every 15 min.

7. Come into the exam wearing slippers, a bathrobe, a towel on your head, and nothing else.

8. Come down with a BAD case of Tourette's Syndrome during the exam. Be as vulgar as possible.

9. Bring things to throw at the instructor when s/he's not looking. Blame it on the person nearest to you.

10. As soon as the instructor hands you the exam, eat it.

11. Every 5 min. stand up, collect all your things, move to another seat, continue with the exam.

12. Turn in the exam approx. 30 min. into it. As you walk out, start commenting on how easy it was.

13. Get the exam. 20 min into it, throw your papers down violently, scream out "Fuck this!" and walk out triumphantly.

14. Arrange a protest before the exam starts (ie. Threaten the instructor that whether or not everyone's done, they are all leaving after one hour to go drink.)

15. Show up completely drunk (completely drunk means at some point during the exam, you should start crying for mommy).

16. Comment on how sexy the instructor is looking that day.

17. Come to the exam wearing a black cloak. After about 30 min, put on a white mask and start yelling "I'm here, the phantom of the opera" until they drag you away.

18. If the exam is math/sciences related, make up the longest proofs you could possible think of. Get pi and imaginary numbers into most equations. If it is a written exam, relate everything to your own life story.

19. Try to get people in the room to do a wave.

20. Bring some large, cumbersome, ugly idol. Put it right next to you. Pray to it often. Consider a small sacrifice.

21. During the exam, take apart everything around you. Desks, chairs, anything you can reach.

22. Puke into your exam booklet. Hand it in. Leave.

23. Take 6 packages of rice cakes to the exam. Stuff at least 2 rice cakes into your mouth at once. Chew, then cough. Repeat if necessary.

24. Masturbate.

25. Walk in, get the exam, sit down. About 5 min into it, loudly say to the instructor, "I don't understand ANY of this. I've been to every lecture all semester long! What's the deal? And who the hell are you? Where's the regular guy?"

26. Do the entire exam in another language. If you don't know one, make one up!

27. Bring a black marker. Return the exam with all questions and answers completely blacked out.

28. Every now and then, clap twice rapidly. If the instructor asks why, tell him/her in a very derogatory tone, "the light bulb that goes on above my head when I get an idea is hooked up to a clapper. DUH!"

29. From the moment the exam begins, hum the theme to Jeopardy. Ignore the instructor's requests for you to stop. When they finally get you to leave one way or another, begin whistling the theme to the Bridge on the River Kwai.

30. After you get the exam, call the instructor over, point to any question, ask for the answer. Try to work it out of him/her.

Exams Preparation!!

For many today is the eve of our exams, but some is already in the midst of the battle of examination! Which moron invented exams? That was the question I try to find out eariler, but no luck. However, I found another article, which I found would be rather useful.

5 Things to do the day before the exam

1. Review Key Points

Notice the word REVIEW!! The day before your test is less than ideal to be first learning something. Hopefully you have already mastered the material, and it is just a matter of giving that material an extra polish.

2. Eat Well-balanced Meals

Remember the phrase, You are what you eat? Be sure to keep your body and your brain in peak condition by feeding it the nutrients it needs to perform at its best. Usually easier said than done. Might not make a BIG different, but sure would help.

3. Feed Your Ruminator

Whatever we spend time doing, thinking, and seeing in the 45 minutes before falling asleep is what our brains ruminate on throughout the night. So it’s to your advantage to feed it, the things you want to remember for the next day’s exam and not horror movie. You probably scare yourself awake in the middle of the day. Not something funny, or else you be very tired the next morning, cause you being laughing all night! Of course not something too sexy, or else you need to do laundry the next morning!! :P

4. Envisioning Your Success

Just before you drift off to sleep, create a picture of yourself successfully completing your exam. It’s most effective if you do it every night, but even one day before your exam could make a significant difference in creating better exam results.

5. Get A Good Night’s Sleep

You need your 7-8 hours of quality sleep to perform at your best. I being having quality sleep today too! But unfortunately I did not sleep at night. I napped! For those that going "What a lazy ass" well, A study at NASA on sleepy military pilots and astronauts found that a 40-minute nap improved performance by 34% and alertness 100%.

5 Things to do the morning before the exam

1. Eat Your Breakfast

Keep your body, mind and blood sugar in balance. You can always drink RED BULL!! The sugar free one. The non sugar free is too sweet. And try to hide your wings in the exam.

2. Do Light Exercise

Light exercise will help you feel good and energized, and help get more oxygen to your brain. Not very sure the definition of Light Exercise, maybe some Singapore Workout!! Dont what is a Singapore Workout? Nevermind, I believe some free ass around with do a post on that! :)

3. Do A Light Review

Glance through your exam preparation materials one more time, and do any last minute checks you feel you need.

4. Keep the Exam in Perspective

It’s just a test, not the end of life on this planet. Allow yourself to relax and let your worries go. But it is usually easier say than done.

5. Breathe

A lot of students tense up, and forget to breathe, or take shallow breaths. Be sure to breathe deeply from the diaphragm. This will help your muscles feel better and will help to clear your head and allow you to think better.

No.. no.. no.. It is not because I drink too much red bull in such unproductive day that causes me to anyhow type the first 6 letter of my keyboard. It is neither because I finished my revision and start typing nonsense.

QWERTY is commonly referred to the design of the current keyboard. It makes no sense. It is awkward, inefficient and confusing. These arguments and complains has lasted for 124 years, but there it remains, un-alphabetically.

It is a design from Christopher Sholes. (I forgive his stupid idea, cause his family name is rather similar to a great football player). And the purpose of this design?? It is to slow down the typing speed of typist!! If you notice, very common letter such as “A”, “S”, “I” is located at position that reachable by your less strong fingers.

Why is he so evil? The design is intially for old traditional typewriters. When a key was pressed, a typebar would swing up to hit the paper from underneath. If the typist typed too fast, two typebars would crash and causes jams.

Definitely as technology advances, typewriter retires and computers took over. And the typebar crashes problem gown with the wind. But this design remains as it becomes a universal standard and many had got use to it!

Stumpy and His Wife

Stumpy and his wife Martha went to the state fair every year. Every year Stumpy would say, Martha, I'd like to ride in that there airplane."

And every year Martha would say, "I know Stumpy, but that airplane ride costs ten dollars, and ten dollars is ten dollars."

One year Stumpy and Martha went to the fair and Stumpy said, "Martha, I'm 71 years old. If I don't ride that airplane this year I may never get another chance."

Martha replied, "Stumpy, that there airplane ride costs ten dollars, and ten dollars is ten dollars."

The pilot overheard them and said, "Folks, I'll make you a deal, I'll take you both up for a ride. If you can stay quiet for the entire ride and not say one word, I won't charge you, but if you say one word it's ten dollars."

Stumpy and Martha agreed and up they went. The pilot did all kinds of twists and turns, rolls and dives, but not a word was heard. He did all his tricks over again, but still not a word. They landed and the pilot turned to Stumpy, "By golly, I did everything I could think of to get you to yell out, but you didn't."

Stumpy replied, "Well, I was gonna say something when Martha fell out, but ten dollars is ten dollars."

Singapore is the world's fastest walker!

People in the greatest hurry live in Singapore, according to the study of cities in 32 countries. Following in their footsteps are residents of Copenhagen in Denmark and Madrid in Spain.

Researchers in each city found a busy street with a wide pavement that was flat, free from obstacles and sufficiently uncrowded to allow people to walk at their maximum speed.

The speed of each city's walkers was then timed by a team researchers, armed with stopwatches.

They timed how long it took 35 men and women to walk along a 60-foot (18-meter) stretch of pavement, monitoring only adults who were on their own and ignoring those conducting mobile phone conversations or struggling with shopping bags.

The results of the study, headed by British psychologist Professor Richard Wiseman, were compared with similar results from a decade ago in an experiment carried out by American psychologist Professor Robert Levine, from California State University.

Wiseman said walking speeds provided a reliable measure of the pace of life in a city.
"This simple measurement provides a significant insight into the physical and social health of a city. The pace of life in our major cities is now much quicker than before. This increase in speed will affect more people than ever, because for the first time in history the majority of the world's population are now living in urban center," Wiseman said.

National Pledge!

Please do not be mistaken... National day hasn't come early! But hot on the heels of our national song and flag, how could we not mention about our pledge too? When is the last time you last recited our national pledge? Can you still recall what's in it?? No worries! We shall refresh your memory now!

History of our pledge
The National Pledge was written by Sinnathamby Rajaratnam in 1966 shortly after Singapore's independence. Mr Rajaratnam revealed that the dream was to build "a Singapore we are proud of". He believed that language, race and religion were divisive factors, but the Pledge emphasises that these differences can be overcome if Singaporeans cared enough about their country. The draft text was handed to the then Prime Minister Mr Lee Kuan Yew, who polished the text before submitting it to the Cabinet.

Singapore Flag Description:
The flag of Singapore consists of two equal-sized horizontal stripes - the top stripe is red and the bottom one is white. On the left hand side of the red stripe there is a white crescent moon with five white, five-pointed stars to its right.

Singapore Flag Meaning:
The red represents universal brotherhood and equality of man and the white stands for purity and virtue. The crescent moon, symbolizes the young nation of Singapore on the rise and the five stars represent the country's ideals of democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality.

Singapore Flag History:
For 140 years (1819-1959), the Union Jack flew over Singapore. Singapore gained independence from Malaysia on August 9, 1965. In 1963, Singapore joined with Malaya, North Borneo (now Sabah) and Sarawak to form the Federation of Malaysia but left in 1959. Then, on 3 December 1959, the National Flag, an important symbol of independence, was unveiled together with the State Crest and National Anthem at the installation of the new Head of State, the Yang di-Pertuan Negara. The flag was conceived and created by a committee headed by the Deputy Prime Minister, Dr Toh Chin Chye.

Interesting Singapore Facts:
The Singapore flag was originally designed with three stars, until the country's leaders expressed concern that Singapore might be perceived to be associated with the Malayan Communist Party, as their flag also had three stars. The Singapore flag was also meant to be red, as red is a very traditional Chinese color and the majority of Singapore's population is Chinese, but the idea was scrapped as red was associated with communism.

And of course, with the flag comes our national song too!

okok! Today marks the opening of the new air-conditioned bus interchange in Ang Mo Kio!!! So? what's the big fuss? Actually nothing much.. just that i stay in Ang Mo Kio all my life and not being able to be there now kinda sucks!

Size and Population
Ang Mo Kio is about 13 sq km with an estimated 164,000 residents.

History
Ang Mo Kio was named after a bridge built in Thomson Road by J.T Thomson who was the government surveyor in 1841 and 1854. (ya la, really is built by an ang moh and it is a bridge.. so its ANG MO KIO) It literally means 'large and prosperous bridge'. The area’s kampong (a Malay word meaning; village) culture and spirit still thrives even with the current influx of modern developments and conveniences. In previous generations, the people lived rudimentary lives, rearing farm animals, growing fruits and vegetables while others ran small- scale businesses or were laborers.

Y most of the girls luv them so muchh???

Cuz life is so miserable & stressfull...we need something to comfort... ^^

U can find a lot of nice Delicious dessert for both chinese and western style in Singapore.

Here are two Examples: ( if realli wanna recommend there are too many!!!)

1) TCC (The Coffee Connoisseur)'s Dark Devotion (formerly: warm lava chocolate cake)

2) Amoy Food Centre, Level 2, stall 02-122's Oneh Oneh &Yam Paste with ginko nuts

After so longgg...here come the SOUFFLE recipe!!!

Chocolate Souffle recipe (6 servings)

Ingredient:

3 egg yolks

5 egg whites

1/3 cups (65g) unrefined sugar

5 oz (150g) chopped dark or plain chocolate

a pinch of salt

some butter

Procedure:

1. Preheat the oven to 180 deg C (350 deg F).

2. Grease 6 souffle dishes with melted butter.(make sure the base n side fully coated with butter)

3. Melt the Chopped chocolate over the hot water, followed by fold in the egg yolks and mixed gently.

3. Add a pinch of salt into the egg whites and whisk it with electrical mixer at medium speed till hold soft peaks.

4. Add 1/3 sugar gradually while whisking.

5. Fold in the whisked egg whites gradually into the melted chocolate and mixed well.

6. Divide them into 6 individual dishes and baked for 35 mins.

(Tips: To have better texture of the souffle, bake them over water)

Chocholate souffle is ready to SERVE!!!

Sigh... remember the days when you can just drive around for good food at night? Good roti prata places??? Fong seng?? Jalan Kayu??

Anyway for any of our dear friends that doesn't know what Roti Prata is.... here goes~

Roti prata is a pancake made of dough composed of fat, egg, flour and water. It is served with curry or sugar. In addition, although consumed at any time of the day by some locals, the vast majority tend to consume it as a late night or early morning dish, particularly at 24-hour outlets.

There are two main types of the dish - the smaller but crispy version (made famous by the Jalan Kayu chains) and the flatter and more fluffy version.
The dish has evolved somewhat differently in Singapore and in Malaysia. In Singapore, economic affluence and cultural influences have created variations reflective of the cosmopolitan character of the city. For instance, it is common to find outlets serving roti prata with flavourings as varied as garlic, banana, chocolate, durian and cheese, the latter of which is common in Singapore, but less so in Malaysia. Also, roti prata variations are more likely to be known by names such as cheese prata or onion prata rather than with a roti prefix, and mostly in the English language. More recently, the dish has also evolved to other sweeter and more crispy variants such as "tissue" and "paper" which are pan-fried with butter, rolled into a cone shape and spinkled with sugar.

Some of the most famous outlets in Singapore include those located at Jalan Kayu, Upper Thomson Road and Clementi Road near the National University of Singapore. The roti prata chain "The Best Prata Shop" has outlets all over Singapore. Interestingly, there are many prata shops that try to associate themselves as the "original Jalan Kayu prata shop: of which no-one really knows which is the real McCoy; apparently there is some prestige to roti prata stalls originating from Jalan Kayu, a 200 meter long stretch of road in north-eastern Singapore. Burning (Self-Immolation)

Self-immolation is the act of setting oneself on fire; an accelerant such as gasoline is frequently used to hasten death. Burning to death can take several minutes to several hours, making this a painful way to expire. Death may result from smoke inhalation, shock, or, after a period of days, systemic failure. A person who survives self-immolation may still suffer extensive burns.

This definitely not recommended, unless you are really desperate to become damn HOT!

Jumping

Jumping from a great height can shatter organs and tissues. If a person jumps from a bridge into water, the person may die by drowning rather than by impact, especially if the bridge lies low over the water.

But generally it is not recommend, because, as you jump halfway, your life will probably flash in front of you, and you might regret. You might not wanted to die half way through, but you cant change the course anymore. But of course, unless you drink red bull before you jump. Cause…. RED BULL GIVE YOU WINGS!!

Carbon monoxide poisoning

In most cases carbon monoxide is a product of combustion; for example, it can be released by cars and some types of heaters where there has been incomplete combustion.
Carbon monoxide is a colourless and odourless gas, so its presence cannot be detected. It is harmful to the human organism as the CO molecules lowering the body's oxygenation, eventually resulting in death.

Shooting

Brain or heart damage kills a person most quickly; however, the gun must be powerful enough for that to succeed. Usually place to aim are the side of forehead, in the mouth and in some cases the heart is chosen as a target, but it is harder to aim correctly. There are many cases of brain damage and severe physical trauma that do not result in loss of life.

Getting a gun here is difficult but not impossible. But it is probably so troublesome, you might give up committing suicide. Not a option for the less determined ones! :)

If you want a more comfortable option of being shot. Being shot by a guy.. With another gun. That would surely relieve some stress :p

Hanging

Death will be instantaneous due to breaking of the neck. If the neck is not broken, severely deficient supply of oxygen due to the obstructed wind pipe will ultimately lead to death.

This is quite a ugly death. Your tougue will probably be sticking out and eye balls popping up like nobody business. And please, do get a stronger rope with you think you are heavy.

Drowning

Suicide by drowning is the act of deliberately submerging oneself in water or other liquid and staying there long enough to prevent breathing and deprive the brain of oxygen. Genuine cases of drowning are determined by whether the victim's lungs are filled with water.

This is also another case of ugly death. Your face and body would probably be so bloated and wrinkled, noone will recognise you. Please! Do this only you are very desperate of swimming.

Electrocuting

Sticking your fingers into the plugs, will cause a lethal electric shock that is able to kill. A high enough voltage can overcome the high resistance of the skin and pass a sizable current through the trunk. A large alternating current through the body can seriously disrupt nerve signals and can cause the heart to go into irregular contraction.

PS: People with fat fingers? Opps.. Try another option.

Please. Don’t worry. This is the still the singsoc blog. Not a LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) pop-up. And yes I know there will be a uproar, “WTH Zhiwei post gay stuff, he damn gay lah”, “Wow! Die die must subscribe one year of GAY TIMES for him!”.

Firstly, I would wish everyone look at this in a healthy point of view. Oh, by the way, for those that is confused, the rainbow flag is the colours of Gay pride. Today, we going to discuss on the colours not who’s gay and who’s not

Have you even take a closer look and wonder.. Aren’t there supposed to have 7 colours in the rainbow? Why is it only 6? Is it a printing error? What is the flag represent?

Of course there are special meaning for the colours..

In 1978, Gilbert Baker of San Francisco, inspire by the five-striped "Flag of the Race", designed a rainbow flag as a symbol of gay and lesbian community pride. Slowly the flag took hold, offering a colourful and optimistic alternative to the more common pink triangle symbol.

Initially, Baker’s design is a flag with eight stripes: pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet, which represents, sexuality, life, healing, sun, nature, art, harmony, and spirit respectively. He dyed and sewed the material for the first flag himself. He later found out that hot pink was not commercially available, therefore, mass production of his eight-striped version became impossible. The flag was thus reduced to seven stripes.

In 1979, the city's first openly gay supervisor, Harvey Milk, was assassinated. Wishing to demonstrate the gay community's strength and solidarity in the aftermath of this tragedy, the 1979 Pride Parade Committee decided to use Baker's flag. The committee eliminated the indigo stripe so they could divide the colours evenly along the parade route - three colors on one side of the street and three on the other. Soon the six colours were incorporated into a six-striped version that became popularized and that, today, is recognized by the International Congress of Flag Makers.

So next time, if you see a 6 colour rainbow flag in front of a pub, it will mean more than just a gay pub to you. You probably now knows more about their colours than the LGBT.

Firstly, when we mention about Seven Wonders of the World, we usually meant Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, for because only one out of the seven wonders remains. Others are like mythical stories from the word of mouth.

A historian (Herodotus) and a scholar (Callimachus of Cyrene) decide to make a lists of "seven wonders" but their writings have not survived, except as references. The final list of the Seven Wonders was compiled during the Middle Ages. The list comprised the seven most impressive monuments of the Ancient World, some of which barely survived to the Middle Ages.

The Hanging Gardens of Babylon

Fruits and flowers, waterfalls, gardens hanging from the palace terraces, exotic animals, paradise in the Middle East. It is said to be located on the east bank of the River Euphrates, about 50 km south of Baghdad, Iraq.

Built by Nebuchadnezzar II, around 600 BC, to please his wife, Amyitis of Media, who longed for the trees and beautiful plants of her homeland.

The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus

It is more than a place of worshipping, the white marble temple was one the most beautiful structure on earth. Built in honour of the Greek goddess of hunting and wild nature, Artemis, the temple was located in the ancient city of Ephesus near the modern town of Selcuk, about 50 km south of Izmir, Turkey.

It also housed many works of art, including four ancient bronze statues of Amazons sculpted by the finest artists at the time. It was in the end burnt by man who an attempt to immortalize his name.

The Statue of Zeus at Olympia

This is the statue of the god in whose honour the Ancient Olympic Games were held.. At the time of the games, wars stopped, and athletes came from Asia Minor, Syria, Egypt, and Sicily to celebrate the Olympics and to worship their king of gods, Zeus.

It was located on the land that gave its very name to the Olympics, Olympia, on the west coast of modern Greece, about 150 km west of Athens. The sculpture was made by ivory and accented with gold plating and seated on a magnificent throne of cedarwood, inlaid with ivory, gold, ebony, and precious stones. But unfortunately, it never survive a severe fire in AD 462.

The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus

The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus is the burial place of an ancient king of the Persian Empire, Maussollos, his wife, Artemisia II of Caria, and his sister. It was situated in the city of Halicarnassus on the Aegean Sea, in south-west Turkey.

Decorated with gold and surrounded by Ionic columns, the tomb also adorned a statue of a chariot pulled by four horses on the top and statues of people, lions, horses, and other animals. The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus was in the end disassembled and used for the fortifying of a massive crusader castle by invaders in 1494.

The Colossus of Rhodes

The Colossus of Rhodes was not only a gigantic statue of Greek god, Helios. It was rather a symbol of unity of the people who inhabited that beautiful Mediterranean island. It stood at the entrance of the harbour of the Mediterranean island of Rhodes in Greece for 56 years, before it was destroyed by a bad earthquake.

Skin of the statues is bronze and its base was made of white marble. The structure was gradually erected as the bronze form was fortified with an iron and stone framework.

Lighthouse of Alexandria

The Lighthouse of Alexandria, a architectural elegance with a practical use. For sailors, it ensured a safe return to the Great Harbour. For architects, it was the tallest building on Earth. And for scientists, it was the mysterious mirror that fascinated them most. It was located on the ancient island of Pharos, now a promontory within the city of Alexandria in Egypt.

For centuries, the Lighthouse of Alexandria was used to mark the harbour, using fire at night and reflecting sun rays during the day. Knowledge of its location and appearance remains inaccurate, and it too, never survive till the present day.

The Great Pyramid of Giza

The oldest, yet it is the only surviving of the Seven Ancient Wonders, The Great Pyramid of Giza. The final resting place for Fourth dynasty Egyptian pharaoh Khufu, the Great Pyramid still stood strongly at the city of Giza, a necropolis of ancient Memphis, and today part of Greater Cairo, Egypt.

The structure consists of approximately 2 million blocks of stone, each weighing more than two tons. On the north face, is the pyramid's entrance. A number of corridors, galleries, and escape shafts either lead to the King's burial chamber, or were intended to serve other functions. The King's chamber is located at the heart of the pyramid, only accessible through the Great Gallery and an ascending corridor.

After a long history lesson, here is the interesting part. The world needs a new set of the seven wonders, you believe it or not, you can vote yours. "The Media-Addicted Generation"

"Recent study has found that children aged 8-18 were watching TV, playing video games, on their computers, and listening to music for a total of 6 hours and 23 minutes EVERY DAY!"

so.. we are accustomed to hearing about alcohol and drug addiction, but what about this new phenomenon of being addicted to entertainment and media?

Media and entertainment addiction is essentially the compulsion for, devotion to and/or obsession with one or more types of media or entertainment. The addiction can be hard to recognize due to the fact that today's culture heavily endorses media and entertainment, but do check out the following warning behaviours and see if u're one of those slaves of media entertainment :P

warning signs!!

Growing preoccupation: much of our time begins to be centred on one or more forms of media.
Consequences: We begin to experience a variety of consequences as a result of over-involvement—such as withdrawal from friends, colleagues and family. AKA antisocial lo!!
Pursuit of opportunities: We find ourselves constantly looking for opportunities to be entertained, looking for the next thrill.
Defiance: An aggressive and rebellious behaviour often develops as we begin to act out behaviours learned from the media.
Obsession and fantasy: We begin to spend much of our mental energy dreaming, scheming and envisioning attitudes or acts portrayed in the media.
Tolerance: We slowly develop a tolerance for negative themes. Media forms that once excited and entertained us are now boring. We thirst for more excitement, more indulgence and more portrayals of action, violence and sex.
Emotional mood swings: Some forms of media involve intense concentration and participation. After periods of involvement, there is a letdown. We may become impatient with rigid schedules and the slowness of reality.
Overuse: There is an inability to set limitations. Excessive amounts of time are spent watching, interacting with and taking part in various forms of entertainment.
Neglect of responsibilities: Regular activities and responsibilities in school, at work and at home are neglected. School grades drop, and work performance declines. :(:( Trust me on this :(:(:(
Denial: When confronted or questioned on our over-indulgence, we respond with resentment, denial and avoidance of discussion.
The state of the family: Often the environment and values of our family contribute to the addiction. Lack of accountability and lack of personal discipline encourage excessive involvement in media.
Financial investment: An over-investment financially in rentals and purchases of magazines, videos and computer software is a further warning sign. hahha dun need to spend so much moolahhh!! just need a couple of pirates-friends. viola! freeee!! mwahahahahhh.

2008 Singapore F1 Circuit Track Layout !!!!

Although a deal has yet to be struck the planning for the street circuit in Singapore is well advanced with Hermann Tilke's engineering team having now come up with a masterplan for the track, although the actual layout came from Singapore itself. It is clear from this that there will need to be considerable work done to construct a pit and paddock area in what is currently the Marina Promenade Park.

If all goes to plan this will lead down to the vast Singapore Flyer, a Ferris wheel that will dominate the entire area. The track will go around this and then turn right and left to get on to Raffles Avenue from where it will run up to the junction with Esplanade Drive, where there will be a hairpin which will send the cars south across to the bridge to the Fullerton Hotel. The parallel bridge will be used for grandstands. In front of the Fullerton Hotel the track will turn to the right and cross the Singapore River to the Empress Place development and the Civic District. The track will then turn right down St Andrew's Road, passing City Hall and St Andrew's Cathedral. It will then go through an fast right-left onto Beach Road and will skirt around War Memorial Park, with the Raffles Hotel Complex on the left. It will then go down Raffles Boulevard before turning left into the Suntec City development at Temasek Boulevard. This will take the cars up to the circle in the centre of Suntec City. They will then go round the circle and exit on Temasek Avenue, back down to Raffles Boulevard, where a 90-degree lefthander will take the circuit under the motorway and back into the Marina Promenade Park.

hmmmm... sounds damn cool right?? but basically i got lost when the direction stated erhhhh.. "The track will go around this and then turn right and left to get on to Raffles Avenue from where it will run up to the junction with Esplanade Drive........." hahhha:P pardon me. im just damn bad with directions!!! but then again, reading this just reminds me of all the familiar road names and landmarks, im dying to go back to singapore!!!! :(:(

Terry and Murphy fancy a pint or two, but between them they can only raise a pound.
Murphy says: "Hang on a minute, I have an idea"

He goes inot a butcher's shop and comes out with a large sausage.

"Are you crazy?" screams Terry. "You just spent the last of our money!!"

"Dont worry, just follow me" Murphy insists.

He goes into the pub and order two pints of Strongbow. Terry turns white.

"How you have lost it," Terry shrieks. "Do you know how much trouble we are in!!"

"Don't worry" replies Murphy. "I'll stick the sausage through my zipper and you go on your knees and bite it between you teeth. But don't chew it, we need to reuse it!!"

Have an similar meaning to "Ya Ya"

Example of Usage:

Wei Zhi: "That girl damn D-AO"

Mistakes of Usage:

Unfortunately unlike many other singlish that can be formed by adding 'er' or 'ing' behind, DAO is particularly special. DAOer or DAOing is wrong usage of singlish, so please be careful =)

Finally, the bao family manage to kidnap noodle, the one who started up the whole show, and brought him back to the bao headquarter.

none of the family member couldrecognise him bcoz he is totally disfigured - FLATTEN.

Daylight Saving

Hi Everyone,

Please be reminded that Daylight Saving is activated this morning so all your clocks should skip one hour front.

But why the hassle? Why must we switch our time front and back an hour for? Especially, everyone is rushing for deadline and the Daylight Saving simply just push the deadline one hour earlier!

Well, firstly, I think many would think we are switching from Daylight Saving time to Standard time(At least I thought so). It is just the opposite, we are just switching to the Daylight Saving time. The main purpose of Daylight Saving Time (called "Summer Time" in many places in the world) is to make better use of daylight. We change our clocks during the summer months to move an hour of daylight from the morning to the evening. Another advantage of Daylight Saving is that it save energy. Well? Of course it did, imagine one more hour of sunlight into the evening means you will be switching on your light one hour later. And usually people wake up with the sun already at work (at least I do).

And indeed it has its shortcomings. There are evidence that the severity of auto accidents increases and work productivity decreases as people adjust to the time change.

The idea of daylight saving was first conceived by Benjamin Franklin from his essay "An Economical Project." I will not go through the history as it is rather boring. But people that are interested you can go here.

Lastly, some information about tuning your clock. In spring, clocks spring forward from 12:59 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. and in fall, clocks fall back from 1:59 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Daylight Saving will begin on the last Sunday in March and ends the last Sunday in October. The date is recently amended by our all-time favourite President George W. Bush, who signed his name on an Energy Policy Act. In short, please change your time and the next time we gonna switch back will be on 28th October 2007. In the meantime..

Hehe.. mind me for the intrusion. After the story I am very curious what is a "Ying Shi Juan". So as a true-future-Computer Scientist\Engineer i it!!

Not sure whether it is what is supposed to be, but i found 銀絲卷 or Silver roll. It is a beijing delicacy. It can also be found in Hongkong, Macau and Guangdong. Dough is made into noodle (La mian) and wrap into another dough (Bread). So it is bread with noodle. It is then streamed or fried.

and it's time for medical knowledge of the day again :)

it's almost end of term. yayy! budden again, most of us have assignments, projects, essays due by the last week of term. so.. boooo to end of term :( and with the upcoming deadlines and tests, im sure most of you have been/ will be burning the midnight oil to complete the assignments on time!!

and frankly. how many of us actually have sufficient proper sleep everynight? handsup!

yea and i kinda expect that reaction anyway. who the hell has sufficient time to sleep when there's so much schoolwork. alright and including the fact that there's mahjong, random nuaing, pubbing, and the need for "destressing over the fact that damnit i havent done my work yet!!"

so onto today's topic on....

SLEEP DEPRIVATION!!!!

Sleep is as important to the human body as food and water, but most of us just don’t get enough sleep.

and several causes of sleep deprivation include:

Personal choice - instead of regularly going to bed at a reasonable hour, they prefer to stay up late to socialise, play mahjong and drink bacardi! *'act-innocent' grin*
Illness - colds and tonsillitis can cause snoring, gagging and frequent waking, and have a direct effect on sleep by fragmenting it.
Work - people who do shift work disrupt their sleep-wake cycles on a regular basis, hence frequent travellers tend to have erratic sleeping patterns.
Sleep disorder - sleep apnoea, snoring and periodic limb movement disorder can disturb the person’s sleep many times during the night.
Medications
The sleeping environment - sleep may be disrupted for a range of environmental reasons; for example, the pillow has chivas on it and i get high on sniffing the pillow "how to sleeepppp???", or because of noisy neighbours (shucks!!! if my housemates cant sleep!! i think i know whyyy!!!!!)
Poor sleep hygiene - some people’s habits are disruptive; for example, drinking coffee or smoking cigarettes close to bedtime stimulates the nervous system and makes sleep less likely. Another common problem is lying in bed and worrying, rather than relaxing.

insufficient sleep or disruptions to the sleep-wake cycle causes fatigue.

symptoms of such include: continuous yawning, grogginess when waking in the morning, sleepy grogginess experienced all day long aka sleep inertia and concentration and mood changes!!

sleep loss is crucial since it can have a major impact including:

reduced alertness & reduced awareness of the environment and situation
shortened attention span and reduced concentration
poorer decision-making skills due to slowing down of mental arithmetic and logical reasoning
errors of commission (making a mistake by doing something, but choosing the wrong option)
errors of omission (making a mistake by forgetting to do something)
poorer memory
increased likelihood of moodiness and bad temper
reduced work efficiency by reducing cognitive ability
loss of motivation

and do you know that..

sleep deprivation can have some of the same hazardous effects as being drunk!!
staying awake for 24 hours leads to a reduced hand-to-eye coordination, rxn time and judgement that is similar to having a blood alcohol content of 0.1.

and finally onto another medical test to determine your sleeping condition..

the sleepiness scale :)

use the following scale to choose the most appropriate number for each situation.
0 = Would never doze
1 = Slight chance of dozing
2 = Moderate chance of dozing
3 = High chance of dozing

Sitting inactive in a public place (i.e. theatre)
As a car passenger for an hour without a break

What is your favourite mode of transport around UK??
For me its definately renting a car and driving around! The flexibility in the places you can go is unrivalled and its in fact cheaper too if you have a group of two or more!

Here's the great news! I've been renting cars with www.enterprise.co.uk so far and their service is excellent! A weekend gateaway (Friday - Monday) rental only costs around 55pounds and a day's rental is around 35pounds!

Here's why i will recommend Enterprise:
1) Friendly / Excellent Customer Service
2) Singapore license are now accepted by them (after much checking etc, i made sure they knew our license is accepted in UK)
3) Cheap!
4) Picking up service, i.e. let's say you rented the car from 12 noon, they will call you and ask where do you want them to pick you up from and they will drive you to their office to do all the necessary paper work!
5) Sending back service! i.e. its not an advertised service from them but they will glady do it for us as well!

And the biggest reason of all! There's a 10% discount whenever you rent! All you need to do is rent the car as usual from the website from www.enterprise.co.uk select the
1250 PERSHORE ROADSTIRCHLEY B30 2YA branch and choose the rest of the information as required. When you arrive in the branch upon payment, just tell them "Mr Francis Lin from Birmingham Uni" and they will instantly give you the 10% discount! I'm quite certain all the branch staff knows me by now but in case of any problems just look for the Manager, Mr Rob! =)

i mean fine! it's super unconvincing of me to tell you about the syndrome when i suspect im on the verge of suffering from it (i insist i AM NOT suffering from it YET!) and that's that! btw if you havent heard, any word after a woman's last sentence in an argument is the beginning of a new argument. so shuddupp!! hahha:P and read on about the syndrome.

the syndrome is also know as ONIOMANIA oooh sounds so cool. like erhh? onions?

it is still not a DSM-IV (this is a diagnositic mental disorder manual thingy) recognized disorder, but oniomania has recently received increased media attention.

Similar to other compulsive behaviors, sufferers often experience the highs and lows associated with addiction. The purchase generates a mood of satisfaction for the addicted, seems to give their life a meaning and lets them forget about their sorrows. Usually back at home the feeling of a personal reward has already gone. To compensate, the addicted person goes shopping again. *sounds familiar????*

reasons for oniomania are various: fears, depressions, emotional emptiness, low self-esteem. The buying is just a try to handle these feelings and the addicted person gets into a vicious circle. Negative emotions like anger and stress lead to purchasing something, but the purchase leads to feelings of regret and depressions after a short time. The addicted person wants to cope with these feelings through another purchase. also, the roots of this addiction may often be found in the youth of the addicted person: lack of affection and acceptance as well as lack of love and security. As a compensation they used toys. Some people suffered as a child from material need and become shopping-addicted due to an ongoing sentiment of deprivation. so the purchase becomes a replacement for affection.

alright before i get the next complaint about how i havent been updating this blog.. i shall just crap up some useful medical knowledge? oxymoron? crap. useful medical knowledge??? hahha most stuff i study now is crap anyway..

oh boyyyy!! dont we all love it?? *chants* "i heart caffeine. i heart caffeine. i heart caffeine" *chants*

*yawnnnns* so it's night now. and after a full day of school and working on the neverending projects and essays and presentations and robots, you're freaking shagged and all you wanna do now is go to bed and sleep. however, most people ended up reaching for the cuppa coffee instead. i admit it's a damn generalisation cos people like me dont even attend a full day of school (read: pontang! *singlish of the day: pontang = skive lessons; sentence formation: wahhhh im damn sian today, im going to pon school*) BUT end up still damn shagged and i go to bed and sleep!! *oOps*

but back to reaching for that cuppa coffeee..

each time you grab that cuppa! do you even know what u're taking into your system???

it is a freaking drug!

Caffeine is a drug that is naturally produced in the leaves and seeds of many plants and in its natural form, caffeine tastes very bitter. But most caffeinated drinks have gone through enough processing to camouflage the bitter taste, so we get our ohhhhhhhhh!! nice nice coffee taste:)

caffeine is basically part of a group of drugs used to treat asthma!! if you're interested it's xanthine. and for more information either wikipedia it urself and come ask me!! i have an entire lecture on it *excited* and it is defined as a drug because it stimulates the central nervous system, causing increased heart rate and alertness. hahh! and you end up looking like the cat!

Most people who are sensitive to caffeine experience a temporary increase in energy and elevation in mood as well as mental alertness (hahh sounds like ecstasy!) but this is only if it is taken in moderate amounts. if taken in high doses, caffeine can cause anxiety, dizziness, headaches, and the jitters and can interfere with normal sleep!! And very high doses of caffeine would be harmful to the body!!

and from personal experience. i am not kidding about the harmful effects of caffeine. try a cafe mocha/ caramel latte/ 3 3in1 nescafe/ 2 owl brand kopitarik in 24hours.. omg!! it's like clubbing in your own room!! I MEAN THE HEAD AND HEART POUND LIKE NOBODY'S BUSINESS!! *thump thump thump thump*

Caffeine is addictive and may cause withdrawal symptoms for those who abruptly stop consuming it. These include severe headaches, muscle aches, temporary depression, and irritability. Caffeine sensitivity refers to the amount of caffeine that will produce an effect in someone. On average, the smaller the person, the less caffeine necessary to produce side effects. However, caffeine sensitivity is most affected by the amount of daily caffeine use so people who regularly drink beverages containing caffeine soon develop a reduced sensitivity to caffeine. This means they require higher doses of caffeine to achieve the same effects as someone who doesn't drink caffeinated drinks every day.

In short, the more caffeine you take in, the more caffeine you'll need to feel the same effects.

Although the effects of caffeine vary from one person to the next, doctors recommend that people should consume no more than about 100 milligrams (mg) of caffeine daily. That might sound like a lot, but one espresso alraedy contains about 100 milligrams of caffeine!

Yes, I am talking about your blood group!

My First Question:
Which is the rarest blood type??

Well if your guess is AB-, you are half correct! In the UK, only 1% of the population is AB-, while around 37% are O+, which is the most common blood group around. Among the MAJOR blood group, AB- is the rarest.

But there are MINOR blood group. Heard of blood groups that is called C^wD-/C^wD- or Rh_nullor S-s-U(+) or Sc:-1 ??? Because of unique inheritance from unique population or ethncity. With a confusing mix of deep ancestral migration. And here you go! A group type you will never hear before!

My Second Question:
Do you think blood type of a person can change?

Well, I doesn't believe at first, but YES, they do change! But at very rarely situation. In such situation is recovering for acute myeloid leukaemia. There are reports about an individual experience changes of blood group after recover from the serious illness. That is probably the main reason that the current Singapore Identity Card (IC) exclude your blood group. A few years ago, Singapore IC contains information of your blood group (it is on mine too), but in recent years, they excluded that information. Those that IC is green or IC is old, can approach imran! His IC is the new one!

Manchester: Gateway to the North!

Inspired by my whirlwind roadtrip to Liverpool, Lake District and Manchester in a day... here comes my review on Manchester!

Manchester history:
One of the largest cities in England whereby many major airlines flies from (sigh, too bad bout birmingham!) Manchester's roots date from A.D. 79 when the Romans settled here. It remained under Roman occupation until A.D. 410 when the empire began its storied fall. The west gate has since been reconstructed upon its original site.

Interesting Fact:
Inhabitants of Manchester are known as Mancunians.

How to get there?
By train, bus & car! There's trains from Birmingham to Manchester which costs around 19 pounds return. Buses are from www.nationalexpress.com or you can rent a car which cost about 55 pounds from friday - monday! Ask me for more information! =)

Visitor Information
The Manchester Visitor Centre is located at Lloyd Street (St Peter's Square if traveling by Metrolink tram) or you can find them at www.visitmanchester.com is opened Monday - Saturday from 10 - 5.30pm and Sundays or holidays from 10.30am to 4.30pm. You can have free pamphlets containing information on accomodations, dining, city attractions and entertainment!

What's in Manchester that's worth visiting??
1) Manchester Gay Life
Well, there's a Gay village which spreads across Canal Street. Popular bars along the street are "Queer", "Churchills" and "Cruz 101".

Oh well, depends on which soccer fan you are... there's always 2 stadiums you can visit! Old Trafford is really a nice place! (With free parking too!)

There's a cantonese restaurant named TaiWu which has 30% discount off food after midnight! So for those looking for supper... its a good place to go to!

Overall, Manchester is a great place to visit or just for a stop-over. There's so much more varieties in food and though there isn't much sceneries to take pictures with, its still quite a worthy place to visit! =) (Remember to go to Old Trafford!)

medical knowledge for today.

im currently doing a special study module on social cultural and ethnic aspects of psychiatry in medical school and it's interesting to note that different social environments may in fact create varying mental health problems. whilst exploring more around the topic, i came across so many amazingly-freakishly-weird culture bound mental illness around the world...

there are loads out there. in fact my lecturer went through syndromes after syndromes.. illnesses over illnesses.. tonnes and tonnes of them, but i decided to just pick up a few that's more associated with our culture :):) and of course one that's totally wayyy offf ours but OMGAWDDD! i just had to talk about that. disgustingly funnnyyyyy....

1. KORO aka genital retraction syndrome:
Originating in China, Malaysia, Indonesia :)

male patient is gripped by the fear that his penis is shrinking and gradually being absorbed by his body. Women too, can be afraid for their nipples or vulva.

What Happens???

A man goes to urinate and notices that his penis becomes smaller. Usually this happens because he's in a cold place or because he's upset about something. (fyi. both anxiety & exposure to cold cause male genitals to shrink.. RELAX it's just temporarily) But rather than shrugging the incident off, the man only grows more anxious, particularly since koro is considered deadly. As panic mounts, the man grabs his genitals before they can retract into his body and calls for help.

and... "If no one is around to help hold onto his penis (!!!!!!), he may even use mechanical devices--including cords, chopsticks, clamps, or small weights--to keep the penis from retracting."

wtfwtfwtfwtf... i personally hope no one finds this hot. it's just ewwwwwww. fine. i'll give it a WOW! kinda ewwww...

2. PIBLOKTOQ aka Arctic hysteria:
the syndrome is found throughout the arctic!!! among the Greenland Eskimos
an abrupt dissociative episode accompanied by extreme excitement of up to 30 minutes' duration and frequently followed by convulsive seizures and coma lasting up to 12 hours.

During the attack, the individual may tear off his or her clothing running around naked, break furniture, shout obscenities, eat feces (buggeerrr!!!), flee from protective shelters, or perform other irrational or dangerous acts.

3. BRAIN FAG aka Studiation madness
the fag is primarily experienced by stressed-out students (me me me!!) in Nigeria and other parts of Africa (alright maybe NOT!) in reaction to the alien pressures of Western-style book learning. Symptoms include difficulties in concentrating, remembering, and thinking, as well as burning or crawling sensations under the skin and visual disturbances. Most imptly, it induces sleep whenever u open ur book to study!! (that's absolutely true for me again!!)

4. LATAH
in malaysia!! malaysians who suffer from latah(usually middle-aged women), when started or surprised will burst into a 30-minute orgy of screaming, dancing, and hysterical laughter, punctuated by shouted obscenities.

Though often unpleasant for the latah herself family and friends find the outbursts entertaining and slyly provoke them in order to see a show. Startled women tend to mimic those around them, aping relatives or imitating things they see on TV.

last but not least. we have our very own SINGAPORE culture bound syndrome..

5. WEI HAN ZHENG (what the hell is this supposed to mean? i think it's some hanyupinyin and that's about how much i can make out of it)
among the singaporean chinese. "fear of being cold' effected persons wear heavy coats, clothing in Singapore heat.

whattt?? that's it. and u call that a syndrome?

at least we have our own tooo. hahhha we never lose to malaysia :P

Welcome to the cocktail club! Its time to share the love for cocktails to anyone!

Being in the UK have exposed me to the term "Singapore Sling" quite often and I often wondered exactly what is it about. So here goes!

A brief history
"Singapore Sling" was originally created by Mr. Ngiam Tong Boon for the Raffles Hotel in Singapore. That's what is really known about the drink actually. The exact date of birth of the drink and the exact recipe has plenty of disagreement as it was lost in memories as time moved... nevertheless....

This drink is designated as an IBA Official Cocktail
Type: Cocktail
Primary alcohol by volume: Gin and Brandy

Served: "Straight up"; without ice
Standard garnish: Maraschino cherry, pineapple
Standard drinkware: Highball glass
IBA specified ingredients†: 4.0 cl (8 parts) Gin
2.0 cl (4 parts) Cherry Brandy
0.5 cl (1 part) Cointreau
0.5 cl (1 part) DOM Bénédictine
1.0 cl (2 parts) Grenadine
8.0 cl (16 parts) Pineapple juice
3.0 cl (6 parts) Fresh lemon juice
1 dash Angostura bitters

Preparation: Pour all ingredients into cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes. Shake well. Strain into highball glass. Garnish with pineapple and maraschino cherry.

Anyway, the premixed version of Singapore Sling in Raffles Hotel costs about SGD$20. Give it a try when you're back in Singapore! Tell me about your own effort as well!

1。夜神月（やがみライト、Yagami Light）

斷言自己是新世界的神，肅清世界上所有的犯罪者，並決定創造一個「沒有犯罪者」的「新世界」。從此以後，世間開始以「KIRA」稱呼他，「KIRA」成為廣為世間所知的人物。

2。L（エル、本名L Lawliet(エル＝ローライト)）

數次解決世界上陷入僵局的事件，被譽為「世界的隱形高手」、「警方的最後一張王牌」的偵探。本名、血型、生日、年齡全部不明。

3。彌海砂（あまねミサ、Amane Misa）

藝人，是青少年雜誌的模特兒。偶然從死神雷姆手中撿到了筆記本，為了要和KIRA接觸而從關西跑到東京，以冒牌的「KIRA」身分引起事件。因感激KIRA制裁殺害她父母的強盜而跟KIRA---也就是夜神月接觸。

死神：

1。流克(港譯（リューク、Ryuk）
夜神月最初筆記的依附死神。擁有兩本筆記本，一本他自己所擁有，一本為斯多所遺失，由他向死神大王騙到的，也是夜神月一開始持有的筆記。

2。雷姆（レム、Rem）
彌海砂最初筆記的依附死神。除了自己的筆記外另有海砂所持有的，死去的傑拉斯的筆記。

死亡筆記使用規則

1. "只要名字被寫在上面的人就會死亡."

2. "脑海中若没有所写名字者的面貌，则不生效。因此，同名同姓人物，不会同时生效."

3."没写死因的话，全部死于心脏麻痹."

4."写上名字后，若在人类世界的时间单位40秒内写下原因，被写上名字的人会如写上的死因身亡."

5."写上死因后，还会得到6时40 秒的时间去记下详细的死亡情况."

6."只要触摸到死亡笔记本就可以看到死神."

7."放弃死亡笔记的所有权就会丧失与死亡笔记的所有记忆."

8."但是只要触摸到笔记的一部分就会全部恢复记忆."

9."死亡笔记所能操作的死亡时间只在人类时间单位23天之内."

10."名字一旦被写在笔记上就不能更改."

Bush, Blair and Lee were on a warship that was cruising near S.Arabia. The 3 were talking about how brave their soldiers were; their discussion soon turned into an argument where each wanted to prove the bravery of their own soldiers. Bush said, "let me show u what is guts", where upon he called his Colonel and said "Jump into the sea and swim 3 rounds around this ship!". The Colonel replied "Anything for Uncle Sam, Sir", jumped into the shark infested sea and swam 3 rounds around the ship, with the sharks chasing him like mad! After the successful 3 rounds, the Colonel came up to the deck and said, "I did it for Uncle Sam Mr. President!". The proud US President replied "That's what I call guts!".

Blair was pissed. He had to show. He called his 3-star General and said "General, jump into the sea and swim 10 rounds around This ship!". The General replied "Anything for the Queen, Sir", jumped into the shark infested sea and swam 10 rounds around the ship, with the sharks chasing him like gila! After the successful 10 rounds the 3-star General came up to the deck and said, "Long Live the Queen!". The proud UK PM exclaimed "That's what I call guts!"

Now Lee really cannot tahan. He had to show that his soldiers have it too. He called Ah Beng, one of his Private, and said, "Soldier, jump into the sea and swim 50 rounds around this ship!". The Private replied "Oi, le ki siao izzit? (Are you crazy) I juz bought my condo and I am getting married when I go back. Now, U want me to jump and die? If u want to hao lian, you jump into the sea yourself ! @#*&%F!." The Singapore PM grinned and said:

#4 MUSIC and LYRICS

here comes the next review

firstly. i must admit the whole plot is bland, predictable, little oohing and aahing surprises and definitely not one sophisticated and inspiring film. He's a has-been pop star; she's a never-was. He writes the music, she writes the lyrics (thence the title MUSIC and LYRICS. a bit of a no-brainer over there) and together they bore you into a coma with their total lack of romantic chemistry.

The weird thing??? i still love LOVE the movie. i'm a terrible sucker for such films. the movie is witty. intelligent. amusing. an absolute entertaining romantic comedy that'll probably sweep most girls off with the ultimate sweetness and loveydoveyness...

omg. guys. if u wanna jio anybody. write her a song, play it using the piano and sing it. extra extra points if u sing it right in front of everyone. make that in a public concert. omgomgomgawd.. you'll win her over almost immediately... provided you dont sing out of tune that is.

so this's the supposed song they came out with together. it's so nice i've been replaying it over and over and over umpteen times i bet my housies can hum the entire tune out by now :P
